Clemson quarterback Trevor Lawrence

Clemson has an embarrassment of riches. The Tigers won the National Championship two years ago with DeShaun Watson, Jordan Leggett and others, knocking off Nick Saban and the  Alabama Crimson Tide. Last year Clemson went back to the Bowl Championship Series (“BCS”) with quarterback Kelly Bryant at the helm. It was supposed to be a rebuilding season, but Clemson still balled out. They proved they have a real program and losing three or four players will not make or break their season.

Clemson is so good they coach Dabo Swinney can experiment at quarterback. Last week he replaced Kelly Bryant with hot shot freshman Trevor Lawrence after only four games. Clemson is 4-0 against the likes of Furman, Georgia Southern and Georgia Tech. Lawrence wracked up 600 passing yards and nine touchdowns against lesser competition. Now he has a target on his back; Saturday he will face Syracuse who plans to batter Lawrence into submission.
