Spike On Trump
While discussing the film and the rise of the alt-right in Klan in the U.S., Spike had the following to say about Trump:
We have a guy in the White House – I’m not even going to say his f*cking name – whose defining moment … it was not just for America, it was for the world … and the motherf*cker was given a chance to say “We’re about love and not hate.” That motherf*cker did not denounce the motherf*cking Klan, the alt-right and those Nazi motherf*ckers.
It was a defining moment and he could have said to the world, “Not the United States,” that we were better than that.
The comments were bound to rally the “resist Trump” crowd. At the end of the day, the U.S. remains volatile. Social unrest is here, and according to Ralph Baker’s Shock Exchange: How Inner-City Kids From Brooklyn Predicted the Great Recession and the Pain Ahead, it will likely worsen. Is Spike voicing the “Pain ahead” predicted by Shock Exchange? We’ll let you decide.
