The Elite 8 was the furthest a Leonard Hamilton – coached team had gone. They were 20-11 during the regular season and got bounced early in the ACC tournament by Louisville. They dispatched one seed Xavier and outlasted a seasoned Gonzaga team. Hamilton did a masterful coaching during the tournament. Florida State was nine seed for a reason. They lost to a tournament-tested Michigan team that many predicted would go to the Final Four.
Instead of congratulating Hamilton on a great run Jacobson instead tried to troll him. The consummate professional, Hamilton showed restraint and refused to answer the question. Hamilton tried to let Jacobson answer her own question, but of course she refused. She was only there to troll the only black coach left in the tournament for America’s entertainment.
