Missouri Attorney General Josh Hawley has a full plate. He has to fulfill his duties as attorney general, while attempting to unseat Claire McCaskill as senator. Hawley still found time to clap back at Missouri Senator Maria Chappelle-Nadal over her demands to have President Trump undergo a mental health evaluation:
The Republican candidate for U.S. Senate in Missouri says voters are tired of the “constant noise” and “hyperventilating” from Washington over President Donald Trump and his tweets.
Trump tweeted Thursday “3,000 people did not die” when hurricanes hit Puerto Rico. He called the widely accepted death toll an effort by Democrats to make him look bad.
Missouri Attorney General Josh Hawley wouldn’t comment directly on Trump’s claims. He says voters are upset Washington is caught up in “who’s tweeting what” and what voters care about is whether things are getting done.
The president created a public firestorm earlier this week when he implied the 3,000 reported deaths in Puerto Rico caused by Hurricane Maria was a hoax, and a ploy by the democrats to “make me look bad.” Chappelle-Nadal, arguably the nation’s top black politician, got her dander up and responded swiftly to the president.
