Trump And The Global Economy Town Hall hosted by actor Chad L. Coleman took place February 6th in Fort Greene Brooklyn and the event was lit. The third installment of the event featured actor Chad L. Coleman, land baron Christopher Townley, Wuyi Jacobs (AfroBeats Radio) and Ralph Baker, author of Shock Exchange: How Inner-City Kids From Brooklyn Predicted the Great Recession and the Pain Ahead. The first event took place June 27, 2017 and featured pollster John McLaughlin of McLaughlin & Associates and activist Conrad Tillard. The second event took place in October and featured economics professor Lance Brofman and entrepreneur Coconut Rob.
This event one are biggest event yet. Chad’s presence gave it more of an artistic flavor. There were several women in the audience which were particularly pleased with. We would like more of a woman’s presence at future events, including having more women participate on the panel. We discussed everything from how Fed policy impacts the value of land and real estate in Brooklyn, to how in certain instances President Trump may have borrowed from former President Barack Obama’s playbook. At the end of the day, participants were put on alert that the economy may not as strong as the media has made it out to be. After tax cuts and any additional stimulus President Trump can come up with, the economy is likely headed for a fall.
Stimulus on top of stimulus on top of stimulus inuring the benefit of a small segment of society may be good for the investor class. However, it may not be good for the economy. We shall soon find out. Check out the video below and tell us what you think. Hopefully, you too will be energized about being the change you would like to see in your community and the country.
