Video: Major League Baseball Player Danry Vasquez Violently Assaults Girlfriend

Tuesday KRISTV of Corpus Christi, Tex released surveillance video footage showing former Major League Baseball player, Danry Vasquez, beating up his girlfriend. The incident occurred in August 2016. Vaquez apparently played for the Houston Astros’ Double-A team, the Corpus Christi Hooks, at the time. He also played for the Detroit Tigers and West Michigan Whitecaps.

Vasquez is seen striking the young lady twice across the face with the back of his hand. He helped her put her glasses back on. Then as the two continued to walked down the steps of the Hooks’s WhataBurger Field he struck her again, bringing her to her knees.

Vasquez, who was 22 years old at the time of the incident. He was arrested and charged with a misdemeanor in 2016, but was given probation through a plea deal.  He was released by the Houston Astros after his arrest in 2016. Wednesday he was released by the Lancaster Barnstormers of the Atlantic League of Professional Baseball after the video surfaced.
