Kentucky Rep. Dan Johnson

Since Bill Cosby was called out for drugging women and raping them, and Harvey Weinstein was fingered for using movies as bait to assault women, men in several industries have been felled by sexual assault allegations. Wednesday night Kentucky State Rep. Dan Johnson committed suicide on a bridge amid accusations of child molestation:

Kentucky lawmaker Dan Johnson fatally shot himself Wednesday, two days after allegations surfaced that he had molested a member of his church when she was 17 years old, officials said.

Bullitt County Coroner Dave Billings said Johnson — a Republican state representative and self-proclaimed “Pope” of his Louisville church — died of “a penetrating gunshot wound to the head.”

The authorities found Johnson’s body Wednesday night after responding to a report about a concerning statement on his Facebook page. Officials had tracked the lawmaker’s phone to his location, near a bridge in Mount Washington, Ky., in a spot called the River Bottoms.

The Bullitt county coroner ruled the death a suicide and Johnson’s body will be released to his family Thursday morning. Tuesday Johnson denied the molestation allegations – as most politicians do. He refused to resign from the Kentucky House of Representatives, despite calls for his ouster. He posted a cryptic message on Facebook:

The accusations from NPR are false GOD and only GOD knows the truth. Nothing is the way they make it out to be. America will not survive this type of judge and jury fake news. Conservatives take a stand. I love God and I love my wife, who is the best wife in the world. My love forever! My mon and dad my family and all five of my kids and nine grandchildren … and many more to come each of you [are] a total gift from God. Stay stron, Rebecca needs you. 9-11-2001 NYC/WTC, PTSD 24/7 16 years is a sickness that will take my life, I cannot handle it any longer. It has won this life. But heaven is my home. Please listen closely. Only three things I ask of you to do, if you love me (1) blame no person, Satan is the accuser, so blame the devil himself, (2) Forgive and love everyone especially yourself (3) most importantly, love God. PS. I love my friends your are family! god loves all people no matter what!

The drama surrounds a published report  from the Kentucky Center of Investigative Reporting (“KyCIR”) describing allegations that in 2013 Johnson woke his daughter’s friend up and forced himself onto her; he fondled her breasts and placed his fingers in her vagina. According to KyCIR the victim wrote the following in a Facebook post shortly after the alleged assault:

“What you did was beyond mean; it was evil,” the victim said she wrote in a Facebook message to Johnson shortly after the alleged assault …

According to the Courier-Journal Johnson said the incident never happened and allegations were without merit. After allegations of sexual assault against former Alabama judge Roy Moore anything appears possible. At this point, politicians, actors, movie moguls and other people in power are being accused of sexual assault so much that it appears to be the norm. If Johnson was not guilty then he sure acted guilty.

The Shock Exchange is beginning to believe that politicians are either low-lifes or become become low-lifes once in power. Certain politicians, moguls and others believe they are beyond reproach and can do whatever they want. What happens once they are exposed? A wise man once said, “Nearly all men can stand adversity, but if you want to test a man’s character, give him power.” Dan Johson’s true character appears to have been revealed. Any more details of the assault from his perspective will have to go with him to his grave.

On Trump And The Global Economy

Wuyi, Coconut Rob, Shock Exchange, Professor Brogman stunt for the ‘gram

The second installment of Trump And The Global Economy Town Hall took place October 24th in Fort Greene. It Featured Professor Lance Brofman, Coconut Rob (Coconut Rob Smoothies), Wuyi Jacobs (AfroBeats Radio) and Ralph Baker, author of Shock Exchange: How Inner-City Kids From Brooklyn Predicted the Great Recession and the Pain Ahead.

The event was well-received by the community. We parsed through President Trump’s proposed tax plan and [i] how it was pure economic folly and [ii] high net worth individuals could potentially game the system by shifting income around. Apparently, Kansas Coach Bill Self did this when the state of Kansas cut taxes in the past. We discussed the pros and cons of technology on workers and the economy. How will the economy and country prosper under Trump’s leadership vis-a-vis Obama? What’s behind the verbal sparring with black athletes, ESPN’s Jemele Hill and North Korea’s Kim Jong Un?
