President Trump was at a campaign rally in Pensacola, Florida which lies just over the Alabama state line. He used the gathering as an opportunity to stump for U.S. senate candidate Roy Moore who is locked in a battle with opponent Doug Jones. Trump used the opportunity to clap back at Beverly Young Nelson who accused Moore of pursuing her when she was a 16 year old waitress and he was a 30 year old prosecutor:
President Trump defended embattled U.S. Senate candidate Roy Moore of Alabama on Friday by trying to undercut the credibility of a woman who has accused him of sexually assaulting her when she was 16.
At a campaign rally just over the Alabama state line in Pensacola, Fla., Trump tried to buttress Moore’s argument that Beverly Young Nelson forged his signature on her high school yearbook. Nelson and her attorney, Gloria Allred, cite the yearbook as evidence that Moore pursued Nelson sexually when he was in his 30s.
Nelson admitted she inserted notes beneath the message Moore wrote in her notebook years ago. Moore used the admission to not only attack her credibility, but accuse her of forging his signature. The allegation sounds rather far-fetched. How would she even know what his signature looked like? Trump also looked askance on Nelson’s claims:
“So did you see what happened today, you know, the yearbook?” Trump asked the cheering crowd. “Did you see that? There was a little mistake made. She started writing things in the yearbook.
Nelson also claims that under the guise of giving her a ride home, Moore sexually assaulted he. He parked the car, groped her breasts and tried to force her face into his crotch. Either she has a very vivid imagination or Roy Moore is a pedophile. The Shock Exchange finds it difficult to believe that Nelson could make up such a story. And why would she choose Roy Moore of all the people in the state of Alabama. After reading her account the story sounds very credible, and extremely harrowing.
Nelson is one of seven women who accused Moore of pursuing them in the 1970s, some of which were teenagers at the time. There has been chatter that certain people were assigned to keep Moore away from the cheerleaders during high school football games; he was also rumored to be banned from certain malls in Alabama where teenage girls frequented. Why would so many people who do not know each other tell similar tales about Moore?
All Eyes On Alabama
Trump badly wants a victory in Alabama and he is pulling out all the stops. Who attacks a woman for recounting a harrowing experience of sexual assault by a full-grown man? Trump is likely chafing for accusations that he has also sexually assaulted women in the past, particularly women who worked for him or that he had some kind of power over. While former senator Al Franken and former congressmen John Conyers and Harold Ford, Jr. have been felled by acts of sexual abuse, Trump and Roy Moore have not. Trump is still the president and could remain so for the next seven years. Roy Moore could be elected senator from Alabama. What country would elected a known pedophile to a position that allows him to set laws for this country? It is proof that America is in decay … rotting from the inside out.
The senate voted 51-49 to pass the republican bill to overhaul taxes. The house and the senate will now need to reconcile differences between their two tax plans. The bill appears hastily put together and some lawmakers could backtrack as more details emerge. Susan Collin (R-ME) could flip if certain of her provisions are not kept. That means a democratic victory in Alabama could derail the bill. Trump has abandoned the populist message that got him elected. He has since morphed into the “White Barack Obama” and is willing to gift corporations trillions in aid under the illusion of progress. He has proven inept in running country and is clueless how to grow the economy. He needs this tax reform bill to pass in order to keep up appearances – right out of the Obama playbook.
For democratic candidate Doug Jones the task is keep a pedophile out of office and keep the republicans from amplifying inequality. According to critically acclaimed Shock Exchange: How Inner-City Kids From Brooklyn Predicted the Great Recession and the Pain Ahead, more inequality and social unrest lies ahead. Only Doug Jones can save us … no pressure.
On Trump And The Global Economy
The second installment of Trump And The Global Economy Town Hall took place October 24th in Fort Greene. It Featured Professor Lance Brofman, Coconut Rob (Coconut Rob Smoothies), Wuyi Jacobs (AfroBeats Radio) and Ralph Baker, author of Shock Exchange: How Inner-City Kids From Brooklyn Predicted the Great Recession and the Pain Ahead.
The event was well-received by the community. We parsed through President Trump’s proposed tax plan and [i] how it was pure economic folly and [ii] high net worth individuals could potentially game the system by shifting income around. Apparently, Kansas Coach Bill Self did this when the state of Kansas cut taxes in the past. We discussed the pros and cons of technology on workers and the economy. How will the economy and country prosper under Trump’s leadership vis-a-vis Obama? What’s behind the verbal sparring with black athletes, ESPN’s Jemele Hill and North Korea’s Kim Jong Un?
