Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones has dominated the 24 hour news cycle over the past few months. President Trump sent out a dog whistle to make NFL players stand for the National Anthem or “Your fired … fired!” Jones complied and told his players, “Either stand or get benched.” Now Jones is on the warpath with NFL commissioner Roger Goodell for handing down a six-game suspension to Ezekiel Elliott for domestic violence; Jones is trying to get Goodell replaced now that his contract is up.

Now The Blast has a video of Jones on tape making a crude, insensitive joke about white men using black women as sexual toys:

Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones made a racial comment to a fan in a Dallas hotel after the man asked for a congratulatory message for his new fiancée.

The video was shot in 2013 at the Warwick Melrose Hotel in Dallas, Texas. Jones is walking near the bar and appears to be heading out of the hotel.

In the video, he’s asked to deliver a special message for the recent engagement or wedding of a couple who seem to be Cowboys fans.

Jones looks directly into the camera and says, “Jennifer, congratulations on the wedding. Now, you know he’s with a black girl tonight, don’t you?” He then busts up laughing.

Jones’s comments are particularly insensitive given the history of race relations in this country. Black women have been raped and brutalized by their oppressors since they came to this country. It is not laughing matter. The quickest way to send an entire race of people into an uncontrollable fury is to [i] make jokes about their women or [ii] brutalize their women. OJ Simpson had to learn that the hard way and white America will never let him forget what he allegedly did to his ex-wife Nicole Simpson.

Where Next For Jones?

Jerry Jones is a maverick and a very colorful guy. However, he crossed the line this time. Critics suggest Jones – who also owns hundreds of Papa Johns pizzerias – put Papa Johns’s CEO up to suggesting black players kneeling cost Papa Johns revenue. The claim never sounded right to begin with. NFL ratings had been dropping long before players protested during the Anthem and they will likely fall even harder now. Slavery and treating black women as property is as American as apple pie. When Jones called the Cowboys “America’s Team” truer words were never spoken.

Trump And The Global Economy

Wuyi, Coconut Rob, Shock Exchange, Professor Brogman stunt for the ‘gram

The second installment of Trump And The Global Economy Town Hall took place October 24th in Fort Greene. It Featured Professor Lance Brofman, Coconut Rob (Coconut Rob Smoothies), Wuyi Jacobs (AfroBeats Radio) and Ralph Baker, author of Shock Exchange: How Inner-City Kids From Brooklyn Predicted the Great Recession and the Pain Ahead.

The event was well-received by the community. We parsed through President Trump’s proposed tax plan and [i] how it was pure economic folly and [ii] high net worth individuals could potentially game the system by shifting income around. Apparently, Kansas Coach Bill Self did this when the state of Kansas cut taxes in the past. We discussed the pros and cons of technology on workers and the economy. How will the economy and country prosper under Trump’s leadership vis-a-vis Obama? What’s behind the verbal sparring with black athletes, ESPN’s Jemele Hill and North Korea’s Kim Jong Un?
