The republicans swept Virginia in the most-recent election, taking the governor, attorney general and lieutenant governor positions. This comes about a year after President Biden won Virginia in the most-recent presidential election. Even scarier was that McAuliffe was the incumbent versus a relatively unknown Glenn Youngkin, who hales from Virginia, but has been the past few decades gallivanting the globe doing deals for the Carlyle Group. The democrats are desperately trying to change the narrative to de-fund the police and something called “critical race theory”:

Sen. Mark Warner (D-Va.) said on Sunday that Virginia Gov.-elect Glenn Youngkin (R) “stirred up the cultural pot” while campaigning on issues like critical race theory.

A clip of a recent “PBS NewsHour” interview with longtime Democratic political strategist James Carville was played during “State of the Union” on CNN, in which he claimed that “stupid wokeness” and issues like “defund the police” contributed to Democrats’ weak performance on Election Day.

“Are Democrats too woke, senator?” “State of the Union” co-anchor Dana Bash asked Warner.

“Listen, I don’t support defund the police. Matter of fact, I think you saw Democrats all around who were successful — the new mayor of New York, who you’re going to have on, has talked about investing additionally in our police forces,” Warner replied.

“Are there ways that we need to make that policing more community-based? Absolutely. The notion of what happened in Virginia — there is not a school in Virginia that teaches critical race theory. But the governor-elect, Governor Youngkin, stirred up the cultural pot there,” he added.

That said, McAuliffe pulled out all the stops – bringing in Biden, Vice President Kamala Harris and former President Barack Obama. As soon as McAuliffe was seen in public with Obama, he sealed the victory for Youngkin:

Why in the world would anybody listen to anything this person has to say? Mcauliffe apparently hasn’t gotten the memo yet, but black Americans see through Obama. During his eight years in office he gave trillions to his donors, somebody he wanted to work for when he left office or somebody he wanted to sleep with.

Virginia’s message to McAuliffe and the democrats was clear, “Distance yourselves from Obama.” They can talk about critical race theory, de-fund the police, Trump, the capitol riots or whatever new narrative they and the corporate media can cook up. The democrats also lost in New Jersey, so they much be grasping at straws to determine how to pull another jedi mind trick on the American public. Nonetheless, if they drag out Obama, the democrats may avoid the ad spending and concede early.
